For each passage in life there is the “going through.” This is moving from one point to another, or from one season to another. In these seasons, these “going through” points move you along.
But, what if something knocks you out of kilter like storms, forest fires, earthquakes and massive flooding? How do you take your typical problems which turn to major catastrophes and deal with them?
At the moment we have deadly deep freezes across our country, as well as a flu epidemic that has overwhelmed forty-nine of our fifty states, along with mudslides. Last year there were several hurricanes, and forest fires, here in the States to go with the flooding in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and earthquakes all over the globe with many losing life, loved ones, or possessions.
As we continue to pray and support those grieving, recovering and trying to get well in this restoration process…
I have a list of 7 things to help us through these trials.
Pray it through: 1 Thes 5:17 – pray without ceasing
Walk it through: Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Believe it through: Heb 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
See it through: James 1:2-3 – Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Laugh it through: Prov 17:22 – A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.
Sing it through: Psalm 126:2 – Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
and last, but not least…
Love it through: Mark 12:30-31 – And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
These scriptures are just a few of many uplifting scriptures. You can find others to bring you hope, love and shelter in the storms. Hold on to the Word.
